Making Resources Count: School Funding 101

State Sen. Loni Hancock will provide the state perspective and Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Tony Smith and Piedmont school board member Ray Gadbois will offer their local viewpoints at this panel discussion on California public school financing.

The Piedmont League of Women Voters, along with the Piedmont Educational Foundation, and the Piedmont Civic Association, is sponsoring the event to inform citizens on budget challenges facing school districts throughout the state and how the two neighboring school districts are working to address the needs of all their students under the circumstances.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Piedmont Community Hall, within Piedmont Park, at 711 Highland Ave.
