Oakland’s Piedmont Avenue business community has joined together to launch a new tradition: the Piedmont Avenue Art Walk. This event will be held the third Thursday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m.
The next Art Walk is August 18. Here is just a sampling of what you will see.
will hold a trunk show and will feature artist Ken Shelf who creates whimsical, lush micro-paradises with his succulent terrariums and Emily Coker whose handmade journals use repurposed wood and vinyl records for covers.

will present "Abigail", a line of designer clothes for women. Their art walk starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.
will welcome local artist Christy Smith who re-purposes items and incorporates time-honored artifacts to achieve an overall vintage look in her creations.

Come down to Piedmont Avenue to see these and other artists and meet the neighbors.
Admission is free and parking is plentiful and free throughout the area after 6 p.m.
