Piedmont Community Service Crew's Ice Cream Sandwich and Lemonade Stand

The Piedmont Community Service Crew is a coed student group that is part of Piedmont BSA Council's Venturing Program. Boasting nearly a hundred student members, the crew volunteers at many different types of charitable organizations.

This year, the Community Service Crew will sell ice cream sandwiches and fresh lemonade, all made in Piedmont, after the Fourth of July Parade. The proceeds go towards funding a home renovation project in April 2013, which is facilitated by Rebuilding Together Oakland but paid for entirely by the crew.

This past April, youth members and adult mentors planned and performed the renovation of a home in Fruitvale belonging to a low-income elderly couple. In total, our Piedmont volunteers put in over 1000 man-hours of work into the project.

In order to meet our goal of $7500 to perform the renovation, members form the Community Service Crew will sell their homemade ice cream sandwiches and lemonade in Piedmont Park on July 4th. Make sure to stop by and enjoy the taste of helping your community!
