Stephen Dau Discusses "The Book of Jonas" at Diesel Bookstore

Join us for an author breakfast with Stephen Dau, author of The Book of Jonas, which we've selected as our first Book Club Outreach Event! This special morning event will take place on Sunday, March 18 at 11 a.m., with free coffee, tea, and pastries!

Book Group Coordinator Linda Grana says: "The Book of Jonas is an exceptional first novel; one that builds in intensity until its breathtaking ending. In the interim, it's a story of war, culture, memory and loss - a disclosure of the sacrifices and choices made in times of war, and the shocking secrets that are revealed. Fans of Michael Ondaatje and Anita Desai will surely be pleased with this magnificent debut; it's a book that resonates, and will satisfy the most controversy-minded of book groups!"

Originally from Western Pennsylvania, Stephen Dau attended the University of Pittsburgh before working in post-war reconstruction in the Balkans and international philanthropy in Washington DC. He subsequently studied creative writing at Johns Hopkins University and received an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. In addition to The Book of Jonas, his work has appeared in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, McSweeney’s, and MSNBC, among other places. He lives in Brussels, Belgium.
