Fire At Oakland Deli Does $50,000 Damage
No one was injured in the early morning blaze.

OAKLAND, CA — Firefighters extinguished a blaze in an East Oakland deli early this morning, according to fire officials.
Emergency crews responded to the 5400 block of Foothill Boulevard around 4:20 a.m., according to Battalion Chief Dino Torres.
The fire was burning in a small single-story deli with two apartments in the rear of the building, Torres said. It was extinguished by about 4:40 a.m.

"It was contained to front portion of the store," Torres said.
No one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage. The cause remains under investigation.
