Weekly game results for Piedmont Baseball Foundation teams are listed below. Game information from coaches and team representatives should be submitted by Sunday at 8 p.m. at www.piedmontbaseball.org using the “Game Publicity” menu item. Results below are from games played last week.

PINTO

Piedmont Cardinals vs. Orinda Terminators

The Piedmont Cardinals played a fantastic game against the Orinda Terminators last week and secured a win. Excellent hitting skills were displayed by all members of the team including Max Young, Alex Tafapolsky, Cormac Whitney, Cole Pugsley, Kai Baudendistel, Daniel McLaughlin, Nico Defazio, Hollis Williams, Antonio Rivera, Brian Cain, Dean Lopez and Chaz Whitley all with multiple RBI's in the game. The Cardinals were also strong on defense with line drive and pop fly catches by Rivera, Young, Cain, Whitney and McLaughlin.

Piedmont Cubs vs. Orinda Naturals

The Pinto Cubs battled back from an early 9-run deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth only to fall in extra innings to a very strong Orinda Naturals team. Alex Mclaughlan had a single and a double, Charlie Jones got on base 3 times and scored 2 runs to lead the offense. Defensively, Andrew Dorman turned a 5-3 double play and Andrew Mendolson and Shane Miller flashed the leather.

BRONCO

Piedmont Red Raiders 9, Orinda Angels 8

Red Raiders broke open a tight game in the 5th inning with 3 runs on 5 hits and added insurance runs in the 6th, courtesy of consecutive doubles by Ben Wuebbens and Harry Kohr. The Raiders' starting pitcher, Will Dalton went 4 innings and had two hits and three RBIs. Patrick Conn and Zach Pine also had two hits each for the Red Raiders. Cole Kingston scored two runs, had two stolen bases and threw out 3 runners. Brendan Walsh struck out 5 Angels batters in relief, while Ben Barrett snuffed the Angels rally by striking out the final batter.

Piedmont Red Raiders 9, Piedmont Marlins 5

The game featured an early pitching duel until the 5th inning when the Red Raiders used a 5-run inning to pull away for the win. Ethan Croley (Marlins) struck out 7, allowing only 1 hit and no runs in 3 innings pitched. Cole Kingston started for Red Raiders and also struck out 7, while giving up one run over 3 innings pitched. Harry Kohr pitched 2 innings in relief, striking out 6 and earning the win. Overall, Red Raiders pitchers struck out 17 Marlins.
