George Zimmer Resigns from Men's Wearhouse Board

The clothing retailer has issued a statement discussing why it decided to oust Zimmer, founder of the chain and a Piedmont resident, as executive chairman.

George Zimmer resigned Monday from the board of Men's Wearhouse, the clothing retailer he built from a single store in Texas into a nationwide chain, according to the Associated Press.

Mens Wearhouse officials issued a statement today (Tuesday) discussing why they decided to oust Zimmer as executive chairman last week, the AP article says.

Zimmer is a Piedmont resident who has been active with many local nonprofit organizations, including the Oakland Zoo and the Piedmont schools.
