Gunpoint Robbery In Piedmont

A 60-year-old man was walking to work when he was held up.

PIEDMONT, CA — A 66-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while walking to work in Piedmont early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The robbery occurred around 5:45 a.m. as the victim was walking on Trestle Glen Road toward Cavanaugh Court.

He walked past three suspects who were sitting on a small brick wall of a residence. After the victim passed the group, one of the three ran up and pointed a black handgun at him, police said.

The victim handed over his wallet and work bag and the three suspects then fled on Trestle Glen Road toward Valant Place. The trio were all described as Hispanic men in their early to mid 20s who wore all dark clothing, according to police.

The suspect with the gun was described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and a thin face. He had black straight hair that may have covered his ears, was clean shaven, and the gun was a dark mid-sized semi-automatic handgun, police said.
