High School Football Season Kicks Off
Add your highlights from the Piedmont Highlanders' opening game against Healdsburg.
Last year Piedmont was totally shut down and shut out by Healdsburg in a 50-0 loss. The Highlanders held off the Hounds for a while, Friday night, but they ultimately pulled away.
During the first quarter, the Highlanders' Eric Huppert captured a safety to get the first points on the board. George Fullerton scored three more for Piedmont with a field goal.
The Highlanders really came alive in the third quarter with a 34-yard pass completion to Max Elliott, followed quickly by a 48-yard pass completion and touchdown scored by William Meredith. Brian Inch and Jake Pacheco also made notable catches.

But Healdsburg piled it on in the third and fourth quarters for a final tally of 29-11 over Piedmont.
