Why should being different feel so bad?
Find out Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3, when Berkeley Playhouse Kidstage presents Honk Jr., based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling.
According to a Kidstage press release, "Ugly is odd, gawky and ridiculed for his looks when he is separated from his loving mother by a sly tomcat. While his mother searches for him, he embarks on a journey to find his way back through the countryside, and not only discovers his true beauty but also love and acceptance.

"With its message of tolerance and wonderful charm and humor, Honk Jr. is as much a bright and tuneful romp about being different, as it is an insightful and original love story.
"The original production of Honk! won an Olivier Award (the British equivalent of the Tony®) in London in 2000."
