Man Shot, Killed in Dimond District Home Identified

A man who was fatally shot in Oakland’s Dimond district on Wednesday morning has been identified by police as 59-year-old Hung Van Do of Oakland.

Police said officers found Do after dispatchers received a report at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday that there was an unresponsive adult male inside a residence in the 3400 block of Champion Street. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and concluded that Do had suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was already dead, according to police.

Homicide investigators are conducting an investigation into Do’s death and are asking anyone with information about it to call them at (510) 238-3821 or the police tip line at (510) 238-7950.
