Oakland Man, 40, Pleads Not Guilty to Murdering Another Man in November

A 40-year-old Oakland man pleaded not guilty today to a murder charge stemming from the fatal shooting of another man in West Oakland in November. Ian Booker is accused in the shooting death of 54-year-old Rondell Johnson of Sacramento at a home in the 1600 block of 10th Street at about 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 2.
Officers who responded to the shooting found Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Booker, who is being held without bail at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, is scheduled to return to Alameda County Superior Court in Oakland on March 30 for a pretrial hearing.
