Police today identified a 28-year-old man who was shot and killed at a Pittsburg apartment complex late last month. Authorities found Kevin Otis Taylor, an Oakland man, near a pathway leading from the parking lot to the Diamond Hillside Apartments, according to Pittsburg police Capt. Ron Raman.
On Aug. 29, police responded just after 10 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the apartment complex, located in the 2200 block of East Leland Road, police said. Emergency responders provided medical aid to Taylor, but he died at the scene, police said. Investigators believe Taylor was the intended target of the shooting and that he was shot in the parking lot.
Police are searching for a suspect described as a black male who is about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was last seen getting into a maroon or dark minivan and leaving the area before police arrived on scene.
