Pedestrian Critically Injured By Hit-and-Run Driver

Police have released a description of the vehicle.

OAKLAND, CA — An Oakland man was critically injured when a swerving sedan crashed into him and fled the area in West Oakland early this morning.

The man in his 50s was standing in a bicycle lane in the 2700 block of Market Street at about 4:20 a.m. when he was struck, police said.

The red two-door vehicle that hit him was erratically speeding down the street. The driver fled the area.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police are looking for the car's driver. Anyone with information has been asked to call Oakland police traffic investigators at (510) 777-8570.
