Pedestrian Killed By Mercedes, 62, Identified
The woman was hit while crossing the street. Police are seeking witnesses.

A 62-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a car while walking in West Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The woman was struck while crossing San Pablo Avenue near 32nd Street by a Mercedes-Benz E320 headed north at about 3:30 p.m., according to police. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
She was identified today by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as Oakland resident Leona Washington.

The Mercedes driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
