OAKLAND, CA -- A person was shot Friday morning near two schools in West Oakland, police said Saturday. The shooting was reported at 11:20 a.m. in the 3000 block of West Street near Hoover Elementary School and McClymonds High School. Police said the victim suffered a bullet wound to her upper body.
