Piedmont at the Olympics: Men's Four Moves on to Rowing Semi-Finals
The men's four, including Piedmonter Scott Gault, won their heat Monday.

The U.S. men's four, including Piedmonter , won its first-round heat at Eton Dorney Monday and moves on to the rowing semi-finals Thursday, Aug. 2, at the London Olympics, according to US Rowing.
The win places the U.S. team third in overall standings. They completed the 2,000-meter course in five minutes, 54.88 seconds, ahead of the Netherlands, Greece and Italy.
Australia and Great Britain also won their respective heats Monday and now rank 1-2 respectively.

Semi-finals begin at 10:10 a.m. PDT Thursday.Finals are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m.
The men's eight, with Piedmonter as coxswain, competes in finals Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. PDT.
