Lamorinda Baseball Academy’s (LBA) 12u Generals drew national attention with a 6 and 1 record the week of June 16th at the Dreams Park National Invitational Tournament in mythical Cooperstown, N.Y.
The Generals earned a 10th seed (out of 104 teams nationally) with victories over teams from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Utah. The Generals scored 70 runs while allowing only 29, with strong defensive and offensive performances from Piedmont residents Tucke Backer, Carson Gerhardy, and Matthias Haggerty. The General’s march to the final four was halted only by the national powerhouse East Cobb Phillies (Georgia) in 9-2 loss.Â
