Piedmonter's Start in College World Series Goes South
Dixon Anderson only lasted three innings as Cal exited the series.

In three innings of play, former Piedmont High School pitcher gave up two runs in Cal's 8-1 loss to the University of Virginia Thursday. The blowout ended the Bears' run in the College World Series.
Anderson has failed to make it past the third inning in three of his last five starts. Thursday was another tough outing for the right-hander.
Virginia's first two runs, tallied in the third inning, were attributed to errors on Anderson's part. Jared King scored first on a wild pitch. The Cavaliers put a second run on the board as Keith Werman crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly. Werman had gotten on base after a throwing error at first by Anderson earlier in the inning.
