Police Announce Arrest in Fatal Shooting Near Oakland Zoo
The shooting was reported early on Thursday morning.

Oakland police today announced the arrest of a man in connection with a fatal shooting near the Oakland Zoo last week. Sean Singleton, 31, was arrested on suspicion of the shooting of 22-year-old Charles McElroy reported at 4:09 a.m. last Thursday in the 9800 block of Burr Street, according to police.
McElroy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:06 a.m., police said. Singleton was allegedly in possession of two firearms at the time of his arrest and investigators believe one of the guns may have been used in several other shootings, police said.
