Power Knocked Out to About 100,000 Customers
The number of outages continues to rise.

Powerful winds and flooding have taken a toll on PG&E’s electrical grid. Right now, close to 100,000 customers are without power.
The East Bay has not been spared. The biggest outages are in Berkeley, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Oakland and Richmond, although all communities are currently reporting smaller blackouts.
PG&E has no estimate of when power will be restored.

San Francisco had the biggest problems. A major transformer failed, leaving 50,000 customers in the dark and without heat. One BART station had to close because of the power failure.
