Puppet Master Lewis Mahlmann Creates Last Hurrah Performance at Fairyland

The 85-year-old master has created special puppets for an adaptation of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Night Dream" that begins this weekend.


Lewis Mahlmann, Fairyland’s master puppeteer for 43 years, retired in 2006.

But Oakland Local says the 85-year-old maestro has created new puppets for “The Magic Blossom,” an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Magic Blossom and the new puppets make their first appearance this weekend.
