Round the Bases–Youth Baseball Game Results
A walk-off home run and innings full of strikeouts are among the highlights from the past week's youth baseball action.

PINTO (Age 7-8)
Piedmont Angels 10, Piedmont A's 9: Griffin Shields put the final touches on a close battle getting two unassisted outs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win for the Angels. Andrew Grasman was stellar behind the plate and Cooper Downing led the offense with four hits. The A's were led by Carter Alemania with four hits while Jacob Yang locked down the defense.

MUSTANG (Age 9-10)

Piedmont Spartans 10, Piedmont Phillies 8: Patrick "Patch" Selna hit a single and two doubles and had five RBI's to lead the Spartans offense. The pitching was strong throughout for the Spartans with Dylan Han, Sid Gala, Cooper Ford, and Joe Sassi. The Phillies were led by Nicholas Lynn's pitching and a team effort at the plate.
Piedmont A's 7, Piedmont Bulldogs 6: The A's and Bulldogs battled to the end of a well played first round playoff game Sunday at Hampton Field. Excellent pitching performances were turned in by Max Bekes, Avery von Hermann and Harrison Kohr for the Bulldogs and Ethan Croley, Jordan Hunt, Aaron Somers-Satue and Ben Barrett for the A's. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth and the score tied, Barrett drilled an inside-the-park home run for the win.
Piedmont Blue Devils 8, Piedmont Spartans 6: It was a close playoff game against the Spartans. The Blue Devils gave a notable performance as a team, in particular, Ben Halperin at catcher and pitcher, Cutter Mitchell at catcher and first, Mattias Haas at pitcher, and Logan Vawter at pitcher with two great hits.
Piedmont Titans 12, Piedmont Grizzlies 3: Hunter Settlemeier scored once and hit a two-RBI triple and a two-RBI single. Grant Keating scored three and hit RBI singles twice. Trent Settlemeier scored two and hit a single. From walks, Jonah Sanders scored three, Paul Woolcott scored two, and Ryan Parkhurst scored once. Paul Woolcott struck out three and allowed no runs in two innings. Grant Keating struck out two and allowed no runs. James Sharman struck out five, and Will Reicher fielded well at first.
