Rounding the Bases–Youth Baseball Game Results

Highlights of the past week's Piedmont youth baseball action include a blowout and a come-from-behind win.

PINTO (Age 7-8)

Piedmont Yankees 24, Orinda Rampage 7

The Yanks dominated with Emmettt Keady and Cal Barnledes on offense, and Owen Richards, Charlie Jones, and Braydon Ellis making fine plays in the field. Milo Filler made a dazzling catch in center field.

Piedmont Yankees 24, Orinda Shredders 22

The Yanks won a thrilling game, coming back from a four-run deficit in the sixth inning. Milo Filler hit two home runs and had a double, JD Harrison had the game-tying hit, and Ryan Tripp and Noah Zirkle also had big hits. Antonio Rivera and Nicco DeFazio made great catches, and Ben Levinson caught a line drive and doubled a runner off first to end the game.

 

MUSTANG (Age 9-10)

Piedmont Blue Devils 7, Piedmont Titans 6

A short four inning game. Good game for the Blue Devils highlighted by good pitching – Logan Vawter and Mattias Haas, a line drive catch and long fly ball – Logan Vawter, pick off on stolen base – Cutter Mitchell to Mattias Haas.

Piedmont Fear the Beard 9, Piedmont Giant Grizzlies 7

The Grizzlies mounted a furious late inning comeback attempt, but fell short against Fear the Beard. Owen Levinson and Lucas Scherman pitched well for the Grizzlies. Daniel Alderman, Abe Barnes, Justin Casey and Josh DeBare led the offense.
