Traffic Alert: BART Service Between Fruitvale, Coliseum Down Again This Weekend

Trains will be running in time for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the O.co

BART service will not operate between the Oakland Coliseum and Fruitvale stations once again this weekend, according to BART officials. There will be no service Saturday through 8 a.m. Sunday, but trains will be running in plenty of time for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Oracle Arena Sunday evening.

Fans attending the Warriors game are encouraged to take BART that day. On Saturday, a bus bridge between the two stations will be in place, and BART riders will have to off-board at either station and catch the bus to the next one.

BART has shut down service between those stations on several weekends through April, May and June and plans to continue periodic service disruptions through August for critical track maintenance, agency officials said. Crews are replacing a switch that is in poor condition there. BART also plans to shut down service through the Transbay Tube between Oakland and San Francisco later this summer for track maintenance.
