Victim Identified: Man Hit By Train Friday Night

A man struck by a Capitol Corridor train and killed Friday night in Oakland has been identified as 70-year-old Dallas, Texas resident Rudy Scott, according to the Alameda County coroner’s office.

Scott was struck by Train 551 around 11:05 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Embarcadero and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew on the train, which runs between Oakland and Sacramento, according to Amtrak.
