Weekend Things: Dogs, Cats, and Rooftop Dancing at Lunchtime
"Cats and Dogs" playing on St. Leo's lawn and Tasche heating up the dance floor on the Kaiser Center's roof are among the fun things happening this weekend.

FRIDAY, AUG. 5
An elevator to the roof of the Kaiser Center will deliver you to an hour of dance music performed by Tasche, an Oakland singer, musician and producer. You don't have skip your lunch because there will be hot dogs, chips and water for sale in the rooftop garden. Check out the for the full summer concert schedule.

Though you may know and love it as the 1956 film starring Audrey Hepburn, Woodminster Summer Musicals is bringing this classic back to the stage with an outdoor production at Joaquin Miller Park. The show is on for just two weekends.

SATURDAY, AUG. 6

10,000 Steps is a new project that aims to connect local residents to the city's small urban parks. Meet the artists and learn what this project is all about at the launch party which happens to fall on Oakland Museum of California's Free First Sunday. There will be activities for the whole family and even free popsicles at the end of the day.
