"Luckily no one was injured during this incident and two dangerous felons are off the street."

HERCULES, CA — Two suspects were arrested Tuesday in Hercules in connection with an armed carjacking that happened Sunday in Oakland, Hercules police said.

It all started around 1 p.m. Tuesday when the Hercules Police Department heard California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of suspects in a carjacked vehicle on westbound Highway 4 approaching the city of Hercules, police said in a statement posted to social media.

When CHP announced it lost sight of the car, Hercules officers set themselves up in positions to intercept the vehicle if it came into town.

Officers chased the car for a short distance westbound on SR-4 onto John Muir Parkway but because of how fast the suspects were driving officers lost sight of the car as it passed San Pablo Avenue.
