Accused Pinole Rapist Arrested in Santa Maria
He has been transported to jail here in Contra Costa County.

PINOLE, CA — Juan Vasquez, 31, was arrested for an alleged rape that as reported in Pinole in July. He was picked up by the Santa Maria Police Department over the weekend.
According to Pinole Police, a confidential victim reported she was raped in Pinole and identified suspect.
Detectives secured a $475,000 arrest warrant for Vasquez, who then lied in Richmond.

Detectives determined that Vasquez had fled the Bay Area to avoid capture. Several tips placed him in Santa Maria,on the Central Coast.
After several attempts to locate him, the Santa Maria Police Department took Vasquez into custody.

Local detectives have already transported him back to Contra Costa County where he will face charges of rape of an unconscious person, residential burglary, and false imprisonment with violence.
In addition to the charges he faces in Pinole, Vasquez had two misdemeanor arrest warrants out of Contra Costa County for DUI and a violation of his probation terms.
