Blast from the Past: A Tale of Two Cities.
A unique opportunity to learn about our shared history.

Hercules and Pinole have a lot more in common than just being neighbors. If you've ever been curious about how these two communities grew up together, and how they depended on each other, the Hercules Historical Society and Pinole Historical Society are presenting a joint program Friday, February 15th, 6:30pm, at the Kaiser Medical Building in Pinole, conference rooms 2A and 2B. This free event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
From the Pinole Historical Society Winter 2013 Newsletter:
"Pinole and Hercules hace a shared history based on geography and a heritage of mutual need and cooperation. Both were part of the 18,000-acre El Rancho Pinole land grant in the early 1800s, and both grew into cities, Hercules in 1900 and Pinole in 1903.

The program will focus on the interaction and cultural ties of the communities: the mutual need for water, schools, and jobs will be highlighted, with oral histories and a Powerpoint presentation."
