HERCULES (July 28, 2021) - The City of Hercules today announced the hiring of Dante Hall as City Manager. Mr. Hall, who currently serves as Assistant City Manager for the City of Foster City, will take over from Steven Falk, who has been serving as the Interim City Manager. Mr. Hall’s first day in the office will be August 16th.

“I’m delighted and honored to have been chosen by the City Council to serve as the City Manager for Hercules.” Mr. Hall noted, “Hercules is an extraordinary community and I look forward to working collaboratively in support of our vision to be a premier small city focused on customer service and excellence.”
Mr. Hall is an accomplished local government professional with twenty-five years of California public sector experience. He began his career by providing constituent services in the City of Pasadena, and then moved on through a series of increasingly responsible positions in El Monte, Half Moon Bay, and Moreno Valley. Mr. Hall spent the last six years as Foster City’s Assistant City Manager, where he also stepped in and served for nine months as that City’s Interim City Manager.

Over his long career, Mr. Hall has demonstrated a track record of leadership success that will benefit Hercules. His experience is broad and deep, having served in many different roles including community development, finance, labor negotiations, public works, code enforcement, public information, and emergency services. He has specialized skills in economic development, redevelopment, affordable housing, and capital projects. He has a proven leadership record as a consensus builder, a communicator, and a problem solver.
Mayor Chris Kelley observed, “We look forward to welcoming Dante Hall to the Hercules community as our new City Manager and working with him on the many challenges ahead. His creativity and breadth of experience in finance, planning and administration will serve the City well.”
Mr. Hall holds a B.A. from Azusa Pacific University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the City University of New York. In addition, he has attained certification as a Credentialed Manager with the International City/County Management Association.
