City Manager's Report: City Council Will See Two Budget Versions

The Pinole City Council will hold two workshops in May, one with the utility users tax and one without it.

Pinole City Manager Belinda Espinosa gives an update on the process for the 2012-13 budget year. With a November election ballot measure on continuing the city's utility users tax expected, city staff are preparing two budget versions. One will assume that voters will approve the existing tax and one will be based on the loss of the tax revenue, which is about $2 million a year. That amount represents about 20 percent of the general fund revenues.

The workshops are scheduled for May 22 and 29 and will be telvised live on Pinole TV.

This week's report also includes a report on bilding permit activity, a reminder about on June 2 and other events and activities.
