Cold Case Murders: Man Sentenced To Life In Prison
The murders happened in 1987 and 1993. Both of the women were also raped.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A 55-year-old probationer who pleaded no contest to killing two women in a pair of cold cases dating back roughly 30 years was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus an additional 25 years in Contra Costa County Superior Court.
Prosecutors said that William "Wild Bill" Huff murdered Deanna Lynn Butterfield Dec. 5, 1987 in or near Tilden Park. He also murdered Muey Lin Saechao June 11, 1993. She was found strangled with her own sock in the backyard of a San Pablo house.
Huff allegedly raped both women, but rape charges were dropped according to Prosecutor Aron DeFerrari.

A third victim came forward at a preliminary hearing and testified that Huff had raped her, as well, but there were no known prior sex crime convictions on the defendant's record.
Huff had a series of prior felony convictions for drug offenses and auto theft. He's been in-and-out of jail since the 90s according to the charging document in the case that went before the judge Tuesday.

"Today marks the end of an emotionally difficult saga for the family members that were left behind when defendant huff took two innocent lives," DeFerrari said. "I credit the perseverance of the San Pablo Police
Department and the East Bay Regional Parks District Police Department for ensuring justice was served today."
