Contra Costa County Unemployment Rate Remains Low

The unemployment rate in every Bay Area county is below 5 percent.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The unemployment rate in Contra Costa County last month was 3.1 percent, according to California's Employment Development Department. In Alameda County the rate was even lower, 3 percent.

In fact, the unemployment rate was below five percent in all nine San Francisco Bay Area counties last month.

San Mateo County had the lowest rate at 2.1 percent, followed by Marin County at 2.3 percent and San Francisco at 2.4 percent. In Santa Clara and Sonoma counties, unemployment was below three percent.

Napa County had a rate of 3.6 percent. Solano County had the highest rate at 4.1 percent.

Statewide, unemployment was 4.3 percent, compared with 4.1 percent nationwide.
