Contra Costa Republican Party Joins Unions in Calling for Board of Sups to Rescind Pay Increase
The Contra Costa Republican Party, local unions are against the pay increase.

On October 28, 2014, the Contra Costa County Supervisors granted themselves a 33 percent pay increase and arbitrarily tied their future salaries to 70 percent of judicial salaries. In their Resolution Opposing the Board of Supervisors 33 percent Pay and Pension Increase, the Contra Costa Republican Party stands against the pay increase and in support of a referendum begun by local unions which would rescind the increase and put the issue before the voters in 2016.

The Contra Costa Republican Party would like to relieve Supervisor Gioia’s ethically and morally burdened conscience by demanding 1.) The action raising Supervisors’ pay be rescinded 2.) Any Board of Supervisors’ compensation increase be voted on by Contra Costa County voters and 3.) Said pay increases be authorized for subsequent, rather than, current Board members, and
The Contra Costa Republican Party supports the current referendum to repeal the 33% pay increase being circulated by the Contra Costa Taxpayers Association, Public Employees Union Local 1, and the Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, and, finally
