County Says Sick Hercules Students Tested Positive for Norovirus
Contra Costa Public Health officials confirmed norovirus in students.

County health officials are confirming reports that a caused an of stomach flu-like symptoms among Hercules Middle High School students.
School lunches were initially suspected to have made the kids sick earlier in January.
Contra Costa County Public Health Spokeswoman Kate Fowlie released this statement Tuesday.

"Test results for at least one student at Hercules Middle High School have come back positive for norovirus. This confirms that norovirus is the cause of the illness outbreak at the school. There have been no additional cases reported since January 13 at the school. However, Norovirus continues to be present at other schools and throughout the community, and people are urged to stay home if they are sick and wash their hands with soap and water to help prevent the spread of this illness."
