Dryer Fire Fills Hercules Home With Smoke

HERCULES, CA —A Hercules family that was spending Saturday morning getting the laundry done added a few more chores to their list - air out the smoke and buy a new dryer.

At 10 a.m., Rodeo-Hercules firefighters received the call about the dryer fire in the Valley Run neighborhood. In addition to extinguishing the fire and removing the problematic dryer, the Engine 75 crew members assisted with smoke removal.

Firefighters passed along this tip: periodically check the exhaust vent and tubing for lint and debris buildup.
