East Bay Dad Drowns Trying To Save Son In Lake Berryessa: Napa Sheriff
The young boy survived however the 35-year-old man was not able to swim back to shore.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — A father drowned Sunday in Lake Berryessa while trying to save his young son, the Napa County Sheriff's Office said.
Witnesses said the man entered the water around 3 p.m. Sunday to try to save his son from drowning; the young boy survived however the man was not able to swim back to shore.
At 4:17 p.m., the sheriff's Marine Unit recovered the man's body from the water.

The drowning victim was identified by the sheriff's office as 35-year-old Marciallo Perez of San Pablo.
"Our condolences go out to the Perez family," the sheriff's office said.

It marked the second drowning in six days at Lake Berryessa.
The sheriff's office issued a reminder to wear a life jacket when on a boat or in or near the water.
