This course is offered for ages 11 to 15. Students will learn via activities, video and hands-on role playing. The class covers how to supervise infants and children, perform basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding, choosing safe, age-appropriate games and toys, and handle bedtime and discipline. Identify safety hazards and prevent injuries, care for common emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings. Communicate effectively with parents. Students earn a babysitter's training certificate from the ARC. One class.
