Celtic Sands

Celtic Sands, an Irish folk trio, has been described as a little bit Gypsy, and a dazzle of poetry and fun. Founding member Lara Garner is versatile as both a folk and classical musician. She plays Celtic harp, tin whistle, Irish flute, recorder and bodhran and is a classically-trained pianist. She has performed in pubs, restaurants, concert halls, churches, castles, cathedrals, and gardens. She taught herself to play the harp after a series of persistent dreams in which she was playing the harp. Fiddler Alina Polonskaya is classically-trained with deep interest in different styles of music that led her to play with Celtic Sands. Dave Sahn has been playing Irish music throughout the Bay Area for the last ten years. This free 45-minute event, which is part of Contra Costa County Library’s Summer Reading Festival!
