Former Pinole Cop Sentencing Set for Next Week

Neighbors protected an elderly Pleasanton woman from a scheme to get her estate.

Jean Phyllis Jones, 84, passed away recently leaving her Victorian home and estate totaling $1.5 million to the City of Pleasanton.

Meanwhile, a former Pinole Police commander, Matthew Messier, who tried to swindle her out of her estate, will be sentenced on Jan. 21.
