Former Pinole Officer Accused Of Recording Woman During Sex

PINOLE, CA— A former Pinole police officer is accused of unlawfully video-recording a woman while having sex with her, the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office said Monday.
Anthony Luciano Vasquez, 24, of Hercules, was charged Monday by the District Attorney’s Office with one felony and one misdemeanor in connection with the alleged crime.
"The defendant had a hidden camera in his bedroom at his home in Hercules that was used for this recording," the DA's Office said. "Vasquez recorded the victim without her consent."

Vasquez was employed by the City of Pinole when the incident took place March 4, 2021.
Vasquez has since resigned from the Pinole Police Department, the DA's Office said Monday.

A concerned citizen contacted the Pinole Police Department, which in turn referred the case to the DA's Office for investigation.
"Due to the sexual nature of this criminal complaint, our Office will not name the victim involved or describe her in any way," the DA's Office said.
Prosecutors with the DA's Office believe there are other potential victims related to Vasquez’s alleged conduct and asked anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact Senior Inspector Steven Cheatham at 925-957-8761.
