Fresh Start- Business Before Breakfast Series Presented by Pinole Chamber of Commerce and the Business Development Center

Fresh Start is not just a mixer, but an opportunity to gain priceless business knowledge from your peers.

Earlier this year the Pinole Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Business Development Center for a test run of a new event concept for local business professionals, small business owners and entrepreneurs. The idea was to break away from the mold of traditional mixers. As a business owner, time is your most valuable asset. Meeting after to work to network over a glass of wine is not a bad idea- everyone needs a chance to unwind after a long day and mixers are a great way to introduce yourself (and your company) to new people. The idea behind Fresh Start is to gain practical knowledge and start the workday off right- feeling energized and ready to apply what you’ve learned to your business.

The first Fresh Start in June was a success. The seminar on Social Media Marketing attracted many small business owners who were excited to learn tricks of the trade from professional Kevin Pacotti of Lightening Rod Solutions Strategic Marketing and practical examples from Amber Edwards of local jewelry store, Garden of Gems. The event also featured a short demonstration and tasting of healthy breakfast smoothies, because starting the workday off right involves fueling up right too. This gave attendees plenty of time to meet and greet before the discussion began. A lot questions were answered and everyone seemed excited to get to work and try what they had learned.

Over the past few months the Pinole Chamber of Commerce and the Business Development Center have been hard at work planning the next installments of the Fresh Start series- which will be held quarterly (Jan/Apr/July/Oct) at the Business Development Center, 812 San Pablo Avenue in Pinole. The next session will be Wednesday, October 15, 8-9:00am and will feature a talk on The Trader Joe’s Experience by Randy Holland, Captain (Store Manager) of Trader Joe’s, Pinole. You’re invited to learn how one of the most successful and recognizable customer service models can be applied to your business. Coffee, fresh bites and networking are included.
