Rodeo Grass Fire: 370 Acres Burned
The flames roared through the tinder-dry grass in just hours on Saturday.

RODEO, CA - A grass fire quickly torched 370 acres at an oil refinery in Rodeo, off I-80 at Willow Avenue Saturday afternoon. Cal Fire joined Rodeo-Hercules firefighters and other local agencies to keep the fire from getting completely out of hand.
Firefighters remained on scene overnight, making sure that hot spots were extinguished.
Some surface roads in the area were closed for fire fighting efforts. Earlier, the CHP had issued a Sig-Alert, with some lane closures in I-80.

The fire burned on Phillips 66 Refinery property. More than 100 firefighters battled the flames from the sky and ground. As evening approached, conditions for firefighters improved.

No injuries were reported.

The CHP first reported seeing the fire at 2:40 p.m. By 2:51, the CHP described the fire as "a couple of acres in size."

The National Weather Service issued a fire advisory Saturday morning.
