Hercules Officer Injured Enroute To Domestic-Disturbance Call

The incident occurred at the Sycamore and San Pablo avenues intersection.

HERCULES, CA – A Hercules police officer was injured in a collision while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Saturday night, police said today.

Officers had responded at 8:32 p.m. Saturday to a call in the 1300 block of Sycamore Avenue from someone saying she could hear an altercation between a man and woman that sounded physical, according to police.

An officer was traveling west on Sycamore Avenue through the intersection at San Pablo Avenue with his siren and emergency lights on and collided with a green Kia Soul traveling south through the intersection.

The Kia then hit a black Audi that was stopped at the light on eastbound Sycamore Avenue, police said.

The officer was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries and was later released. The Kia driver also was taken to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, while the occupants of the Audi also did not suffer any major injuries, according to police.
