Hercules Police Log: Burglary Attempts, Assault With a Deadly Weapon

This is a summary of police calls that generated reports by the Hercules Police Department.

Traffic Collision: On August 29 at 8:37 A.M., officers responded to Partridge near Refugio Valley Rd. When they arrived, officers found that one vehicle had struck a parked car. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. A collision report was taken.

Attempted Burglary: On August 29 at 11:57 A.M., officers were dispatched to the area of Forest Run. The reporting party said a suspicious subject had been seen running through the complex. The subject was described as an Afro-American male, approximately 25 years, wearing a red hat and no shirt. While officers were responding, a second call was received, from the resident in the 2100 block of Forest Run. The resident reported that a subject had just removed a screen, from his front window, in an attempt to enter his
residence. Dispatch provided information about a similar incident about a week earlier. No subject was contacted. The investigation is continuing.

Vandalism/Theft: On August 29 at 2:59 P.M., an officer was dispatched to Santa Fe and Railroad. A Hercules Public Works employee reported that the copper wire, connecting several street lights in the area, had been cut and removed sometime during the last week. The damage is estimated at approximately $1,000.

Attempt Burglary: On August 29 at 7:17 p.m. an officer responded to the 1000 block of White Birch Drive. A homeowner reported he left his home at approximately 7:30 a.m. and arrived home at 5:00 p.m. When he exited the kitchen’s rear sliding glass door he saw the kitchen’s window screen lying on the ground. The window screen had been removed and
damaged by an unknown suspect(s).

Attempt Burglary: On August 29 at 9:24 p.m. officers were dispatched to 100 block of Maple Ct. The homeowner reported he just saw a subject flee from his unlocked SUV. The reporting party said he was upstairs when he looked outside and saw an unknown White Male, wearing dark clothing, inside of his unlocked ’96 Chevy Suburban. The subject was last seen leaving, on foot, towards Redwood Rd. An area check was done but the subject was
not located. It did not appear any property was missing.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Spousal Abuse and Auto Theft: On August 30 at 1:59 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 76 Gas Station, in the 800 block of Willow Ave. The reporting party stated a male had just been stabbed. Upon arrival officers found the adult male victim standing in front of the mini-mart. The victim had sustained an approximate 1” puncture wound to his upper back that was bleeding profusely. The victim said his live-in girlfriend, stabbed him in the back while he was preparing to pump gas into his car. The suspect then got into the victim’s car and drove away. The victim was transported to a hospital. The on call detective responded and the investigation is continuing.
