Hercules Police Log for Aug 30

Traffic Collision: On August 30, at 8:21am officers responded to the 200 block of Sparrow Dr. Officers determined the driver of a 2007 Chevy was making a wide turn into her driveway when she struck the right side of a 2005 Toyota pickup. The pickup sustained moderate damage, but neither driver was injured.

Residential Burglary: On 8/30/12 at 9:46am, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Valley Run for a possible burglary in progress. The reporting party saw three males enter the home, and believed they did not live at the address. When officers arrived on scene they observed three males, matching the description provided by the caller, inside the home.

Officer contacted the three males who were identified as 21 year old James Carter, of Hercules; 19 year old Sean Cantiller of Hercules; and a seventeen year old Juvenile, from Pinole, who was on searchable probation.

While officers were attempting to determine if the three males belonged at the house they received information that a residence on Arete Ct. had been burglarized. The residence on Arete Ct. is diagonally across the street from where the officers contacted the three subjects. The loss from the residence on Arete Ct. included a handgun, electronic equipment, jewelry, and credit cards.

On officer searched the Juvenile, as authorized by his searchable probation status, and found a credit card belonging to one of the victim’s from the Arete Ct. burglary. All three suspects were arrested for First Degree Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, and Possession of Stolen Property. The Juvenile was also arrested for Violation of Probation.

Detectives determined that Carter lived at the Valley Run address. A search warrant was obtained and officer recovered all of the stolen property, including the gun.

Harassing Phone Calls: On August 29, 2012 at 7:34 p.m. and officer responded to the 100 block Palermo Court. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, and child’s father, made annoying & harassing telephone calls yesterday & today.
