PINOLE AND HERCULES, CA — Hercules Police Officer Luis Montenegro was honored as Officer of the Year Tuesday night at the Hercules City Council Meeting.

According to a social media post from the department, Montenegro "Montenegro is one of our Field Training Officers, was appointed to the position of Corporal in 2018, was the acting Watch Commander on a graveyard team for several months, and will be attending the Defensive Tactics Instructor course in March."

Mayor Romero presented Officer Montenegro with a Council Proclamation honoring his accomplishments and thanking him for his service to the City of Hercules.
