HERCULES, CA —A driver escaped arrest Saturday night after fleeing from a traffic stop in Hercules, according to police.

An officer watched a Toyota Camry fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Lupine Road and Manzanita Place.

The driver turned off the vehicle's lights and accelerated away, leading the officer on a pursuit around several different roadways before eventually heading west on Refugio Valley Road and evading a spike-strip deployed at the intersection of Country Run and side-swiping an eastbound truck.
