PINOLE, CA — One of the worst parts about the end of the holiday season is trying to figure out how to dispose of your Christmas tree.
Luckily for Pinole and Hercules residents, the Richmond Sanitary Service will collect holiday trees for compost on regular service days.
Yard waste, collected in a green cart, is collected every other week on the same day as garbage is collected.

Christmas trees will be collected during the first two full weeks of January, 2022 — from Jan. 3 to Jan. 14. Christmas trees should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m.
Trees must be stripped of lights, decorations and stands. Flocked or artificial Christmas trees will not be accepted.
